Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28 1948) is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. She has appeared on television, film, musical theatre and individual concerts as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. She is a highly regarded Broadway actor, having earned seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, getting three. Four of the Broadway casting albums in which she's performed have won Grammy Awards.
Peters is widely considered to be the most well-known interpreter of the work of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
